RA3 1.5 Released -- 9:04 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Version 1.5 of the RocketArena3 mod for Quake III Arena is available for download. It comes at a 90M full install or a 50M patch. I'm not sure why the file date on their download page is July 22 of last year, but that is the new file. It is available for Win32, Mac, and Linux.

Or so claims this article. Of course, it's the classic case of the chicken and the egg. Did the games make the kids smarter or do smart kids like games? Same thing for the whole violence issue. I'm sure this will continue to be debated until we all throw up. Thanks Blue.

Severe Cloning Problems -- 12:15 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

According to this New York Times report (free registration required) scientists have discovered severe problems with animals that have been cloned. It's bad enough that at best 2-3% of cloning attempts succeed, now even those that "succeed" have catastrophic problems later in life.

The frightening thing is that some scientist with a god complex is going to try this with a human. It is a question of when, not if. The moral implications are staggering. It also begs the question as to when the current form of reproduction became A Bad Thing. Thanks Slashdot.
