Transferring Visor ROM: Updated

I updated my HOWTO on Transferring Visor ROM with a USB Cradle. I added updated information on transferring the Visor Platinum and Prism ROMs as well as how to transfer the ROMs in Linux. Enjoy!

Mozilla Update

I just downloaded the May 31 Win32 Mozilla build and I must say that the improvements since Mozilla 0.9 are substantial. Things seem a lot snappier and some of the graphics rendering bugs that I experienced with 0.9 (and even one I had experienced since I first started using Mozilla) are gone. If you haven't downloaded a new build in a while, check this one out. If you want to hold off for a bit, 0.9.1 should be out shortly.

Half-Life: Blue Shift Review

VoodooExtreme posted a review of Blue Shift, the Half-Life expansion from Gearbox Software. JCal is pretty harsh on it, giving it only a 50%. Still, I might end up getting it to pick up Opposing Force which is included.

Pondering the Imponderable

The Master will be gone until Thursday at a "conference" (or so he claims). Naturally, you should notice no difference in news coverage in his absence *cough*.

I went to the Club Louie LAN party last night. I wasn't able to play, but I did enjoy the mayhem for a while. Club Louie plans on having LAN parties every other weekend this summer. The next one is scheduled for June 16. Oh yeah, they also have a weekly RealAudio show, but I don't suggest you listen to it, since it has been known to cause headaches, nausea, internal bleeding, rickets, the loss of 100 I.Q. points, and spontaneous decapitation. Other than that . . .

Just finished a > 73 hour UD packet. Yikes. Speaking of which, check out the Team Haus stats, if you are interested.

The Master comments: (1) Delays at Detroit International SUCK (2) Flying to Washington DC takes a long --- time, and (3) yeah, yeah A.T. - At least I plan to write a new Master .Plan while trapped in this hotel room-be happy!

XFree86 4.1.0 Released

The XFree86 team has released version 4.1.0 of their popular version of the X windowing system. Naturally, their servers are getting the living daylights beaten out of them. You can check out the README here. Thanks Linux Games.

UPDATE! Early reports indicate that the currently-available NVIDIA drivers work just fine with it.

Kenn Hoekstra Interview

Kenn Hoekstra, Raven's project administrator and man whose name I must repeatedly retype, has been interviewed at Mindless Games. The interview touches on Raven's recently-announced games (Soldier of Fortune II, Jedi Knight II) and what might be coming up in their future. Thanks Blue.

JKII Screenies

JediKnightII got their hands on some new screenshots from Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight II. One shot shows our hero battling a probe droid and another shows several stormtroopers charging him. Pretty slick stuff. Thanks Stomped
