Good Deals on Older Games

I was in Best Buy (no affiliation, yadda, yadda) earlier today. In their "bargain" software section (where they just have CDs in jewel cases--no boxes) they had Shogo for $9.99 and X-Wing Alliance for $14.99. Most all of the pre-XWA LucasArts games were also going for $9.99-14.99. Both games are a lot of fun and well worth the cash. They don't even need the latest and greatest systems to run.

Hotmail Cracked

OK, stop me if you've heard this one before. Crackers have found yet another way to break into Hotmail, allowing them to read anyone's email. I really hate reporting this (OK, maybe I don't hate it that much) because it is starting to sound painfully repetitive. I've asked it before, I'll ask it again. Is this really the company you want protecting your private information via Passport and .NET? Thanks Slashdot.

Pondering the Imponderable

I just got DOOM Legacy working under Linux. Talk about bringing back memories! Now we'll have to get certain folks named The Master and J.t.Qbe running it so we can play some serious nightmare DOOM co-op!

Carmack on D3D vs. OpenGL

id's John Carmack made a post on Slashdot on which is better: Direct3D or OpenGL. The most interesting comment is the fact that this whole debate may be rendered moot in the not-too-distant future. Thanks Shacknews.
