Threewave Interview -- 12:40 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Q3CTF.de interviewed Casey from Threewave about their upcoming CTF Unification Project for Quake III Arena. It will come with three distinct CTF versions (standard Q3A, CCTF, and one that is a surprise) as well as 32 new maps. I keep hearing that it is "almost done." Hopefully soon. Thanks Planet Quake. The Cost of Viruses -- 9:12 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
This CNNfn article estimates the total cost of various viruses to be $10.7 billion for this year so far. I'm not entirely certain how those numbers are gained. Basically it's computed by the amount of time and money cleaning up the virus or worm and then the amount of productivity lost in the process. It is of interest that of all the ones they mentioned, all but one attacks Outlook. The other is Code Red. Good thing Outlook makes everyone so productive, eh? Thanks Slashdot. The Master comments: Actually, Outlook is a nice tool. I do wish it didn't have a 26mb memory footprint. Course, that's lazy programming techniques and too much template coding. C'est la vie. I still refuse to use it for home email tho :-)

New Hun-Speak -- 2:02 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Well, I've finally made the plunge. I'm now using Linux as my primary operating system. In all honesty, I couldn't be happier. Want to know why I would do such a crazy thing? Then read my latest Hun-Speak column: What Do You Think You're Doing? Maybe you might just decide to do the same thing.A Story of Enterprise Linux -- 1:40 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
AnandTech has an article of how one medium-sized business used Linux to help out the bottom line. It also didn't hurt that it allowed them to avoid Microsoft's draconian licensing schemes. That's A Good Thing. You too can save money and keep your investors happy.J.t.Qbe comments: This is a very good article, and is a must-read if you're in charge of any company's IT infrastructure. Or if you're merely interested in some real-world benefits of Linux.
