Here it is, St. Patrick's day, and I don't have any Guinness. Oh well. I do have some Red Hook ESB in the fridge. That'll have to do. If you are having a few beverages with your celebration today please don't drive anywhere. We don't need any more statistics.

LAN Partying Made Easy -- 12:03 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

HardOCP has an article on some new hardware that would make going to a LAN party a lot less painful. Club Louie has LAN parties really close to me, but part of my problem is what that article describes--lugging all of my stuff to the party. Plus Saturdays are kind of busy for me and I usually need my computer for business purposes. But a laptop with the mobile ATi or NVIDIA solutions might do the trick--assuming I could afford one sometime this lifetime.

Blue's News seems to be having some technical difficulties right now. Since Blue hosts Webdog, when his site goes down, our news and .plan trackers go down too. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Update 6:57 P.M. They're back. Whew. Was starting to get withdrawl symptoms or something . . .

RTCW Patch Release -- 8:04 am CST, Update by The Master

Gray Matter has released a 1.03 patch for Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The 8.0 mb release contains some patches for various SP/MP issues; adds a new map, punkbuster and mod support to the retail version of RTCW. Mirrors of the patch are as follows:

Update! Robert Duffy updated his .plan indicating the version 1.3 Linux binaries have been released on the id FTP server.

Carmack .plan Update -- 8:01 am CST, Update by The Master

John Carmack updated his .plan with word on a technical article reviewing a method for robust shadow volume rendering on nVidia's developer website. It's highly techy, but if you're like that, give it a read.
