Navigating through Mozilla Tabs

I've been using Mozilla's handy tab feature instead of opening up pages in different windows. One thing I couldn't figure out was how to navigate through the tabs using the keyboard instead of having to reach for my mouse all the time. A quick Google Groups search revealed the answer which I repeat here for your edification. To navigate forward and back between tabs, use ctrl+PageUp and ctrl+PageDown. To close a tab, use ctrl+W. To open a new tab, use ctrl+T. To open a link in a new tab, hold down ctrl while clicking on it (I have it set up in the preferences to open the link in a new tab if I use the middle mouse button). Tab on!

BTW, an exhaustive list of key bindings in Mozilla can be found here.

Attack of the Clones in Time

Time.com has an article on the next Star Wars movie: The Attack of the Clones. There are some minor spoilers in it, but nothing that hasn't already been revealed on Star Wars.com. The article gets George Lucas's view of the dual trilogies and even some of the negative reaction to the last movie. An interesting read for any Star Wars fan.

School Shooting in Germany

CNN has a report on the horrific attack at a school in Erfurt, Germany, that left 18 dead. Many are comparing it to the Columbine tragedy. The only reason I mention this here is because many accused violent video games and access to guns as the reasons why that attack occurred at Columbine. Germany has some of the most stringent laws in the world on gun possession and on the content of video games. Hopefully our society will learn that the problem isn't that simple. You can ban everything, but it will not stop tragedies like this from happening.

Our most sincere condolences go out to those whose lives have been forever altered by this senseless act of violence.

SoF II Preview

HomeLanFed has posted a preview of Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, coming soon from Raven. JCal gives a bit of information on the plot, the weapons, and the random mission generator (RMG) which will no doubt be one of the most interesting parts of this new game. Thanks Blue.

0wnage!

I just had the pleasure of seeing my beloved Red Wings dismantle the Vancouver Canucks 4-0. This after Canucks GM Brian Burke whined to the media that his team wasn't getting any calls. They got the calls tonight and the Wings scored a short-handed goal for their troubles. One sign at the Joe read, "Burke. Shut up. Lose. Go Home."

Gates: Stripped-Down Windows Is Possible

In the Microsoft antitrust remedy hearings, Bill Gates admitted that a stripped-down version of Windows is possible. By "stripped down" they mainly mean without Internet Explorer and Media Player. Now, whether that is actually going to help anybody or not is another matter. For me, the main thing from the antitrust case is not what the government can get, but what competitors can get once the whole thing is opened up to lawsuits. I'm not a big fan of lawsuits, but losing money may be the only way to get Redmond's attention. Thanks Slashdot.
