SoF II Fixes -- 4:05 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Raven's Bryan Dube made the first entry into his .plan with a whopping great list of fixes/changes/updates that have been made to Solider of Fortune II as a result of the multiplayer test. They are listening!

HP/Compaq Merger Approved -- 9:49 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

In the "one day we'll all look back on this and laugh" department, the votes have been tabulated and re-tabulated. The result? The HP/Compaq merger has been approved by 45.3 million shares, or about 3% of the total shares held. I've a feeling that history will show this merger to be about as successful as the Time-Warner/AOL merger. Thanks Slashdot.

DOOM III Announced -- 9:34 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

id and Activision have formally announced DOOM III which will be on display at E3. I guess they decided that "the new DOOM game" wasn't such a great name after all. There's just about zilch for details, other than the usual exec-speak. I imagine we'll be hearing more than a little bit about this as E3 draw closer. Thanks Shacknews.

It's a Motown Two-Fer! -- 10:25 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

It's a good night to be a Detroit sports fan! My beloved Red Wings won the first game of their second round series, blanking St. Louis 2-0. The Pistons won their first playoff series since 1991, beating the Toronto Raptors 85-82. Ahh. I think I'll have a refreshing barley-based beverage and soak it all in.

April Showers Bring Morrowind -- 11:34 am CST, Update by J.t.Qbe

It's here! Stores across the country (EB and Babbages, anyway) are getting Morrowind. I just picked it up at Babbages in Battle Creek. Finally!

JKII Patch Soon -- 9:30 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

JediKnightII.net got word that Raven will be releasing a patch for Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast "soon." No word on everything that will be included, but Raven's Kenn Hoekstra said that the heavy lightsaber stance has been "tweaked heavily." I can only hope that it makes the "Death from Above" move either far more difficult to do or make you far more vulnerable when you do it (or both). A very easy one-hit-kill move is a Very Bad Thing.

Nevertheless, I'm still enjoying JKII a lot. I'm in the process of playing through the single player part of the game one more time. Battling against Reborn and Shadow Troopers are a never-ending source of joy. I hope that the game sells enough (and it seems to be at the top of the charts right behind the ubiquitous Sims games) that Raven/LucasArts can make an expansion pack. Here that, Raven? I've got a credit card!
