New NVIDIA Linux Drivers

NVIDIA has released new 1.0-2960 drivers for Linux. Here are the release highlights from that page:I obviously can't check these out since I'm away from my box. Rest assured that I will when I get home. Thanks Blue.

UPDATE! You can also check out Linux Games for some additional changes and comments. The comments so far have been positive.

Mozilla 1.0 RC3 Released

The Mozilla team has released Mozilla 1.0 Release Candidate 3, the last planned release before they go 1.0. You can check out all the release notes here. I'm really tempted to load this on to my parents' computer because IE 6.0 is driving me to drink. Not that that's a long drive, mind you.

SoF II Single Player Demo

Raven has released the single player demo of Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix. Blue has a list of mirrors. Good luck getting through though. The mirrors are swamped with DOOM video downloads and such. I'm looking forward to trying that out when I get home.

Solaris 9 Released

Mmmm, Solaris. Gotta get me a SPARC of my own one of these days.

Of course, at work we're moving to Linux. For the cost of a year's Sun support on our old hardware, we can buy all new Linux servers.

Carmack Interview

Gamespy caught up with id's John Carmack to talk a bit about (what else?) the DOOM III engine. Included is a list of video cards which should work well when the game comes out. The frightening thing is that my Athlon XP 1800+ and GeForce3 Ti200 will likely be pushed to its limits (and beyond) by DOOM III. Thanks Shacknews.

J.t.Qbe comments: Get off the computer and enjoy your vacation, A.T.!
