Freelancer Interview

IGN interviewed Digital Anvil's Phil Wattenbarger about Freelancer, the space sim that is in danger of taking on a development cycle of Duke Nukem Forever-esque proportions. I'm still eager to try this game. I fear that the long production time is going to hurt it though. Thanks Blue's News.

MOO3 Developer's Diary Vol. 11

Gamespy has posted the Master of Orion III: Developer's Diary #11, Rantz Hoseley's rendition of what's going on with MOO3, the development cycle, and what was important to the game in the most recent cutting-down of the complexity and clutter in the game to make it fun. Good read.

NWN Linux Client Update

Bioware updated their Linux client page for Neverwinter Nights with more information on how the port is progressing. Here's the news:

Mouse wheel support is an interesting issue right now. Support for the wheel varies on different distributions of Linux. In the end, we want the mouse wheel to work for all users. Also, we have made progress on music and sound effects. The current audio developments are starting to add to the immersive experience of the Linux Client. And since we can't give you a screenshot of sound, we have some screenshots of Fire Giants for your fear and trembling.

UT2K3 2126 Linux Patch

Epic has released the 2126 patch for the Linux version of Unreal Tournament 2003. The easiest way to get the patch is through the auto-updater in ut2003/updater. The patch takes care of the previously announced additions and fixes, as well as some Linux-specific issues. Just a heads-up for anyone using Debian unstable: its version of glibc breaks the updater (as well as other programs, I'm told).
