Linux and USB Flash Drives

ExtremeTech posted a little HOWTO, showing how to use those USB flash drives with Linux. Actually, it was much easier than I thought it was going to be. I was debating buying such a drive that Best Buy had on sale a few weeks ago. I didn't want to get anything and then wonder if it would work with Linux. No fear, apparently.

Pondering the Imponderable

Ye gads, what a month. I can't remember ever having a month like this, especially not at the end of summer. Thankfully, if I can just survive until Sunday afternoon, I'll be all set. Then things will hopefully get back to normal, whatever that might be.

When I can grab a spare second, I've been trying out the Jedi Academy demo. I'm really enjoying it, especially with the two-handed saber. The new moves are very deadly if performed correctly. I really don't find a lot of use for dual sabers, which is a pity. It looks awfully cool. I like how you can deactivate one blade of the two-handed saber to use it like a normal single saber or even throw it. I'll be picking this one up with the first sale . . .

And finally, Slashdot got word that Berkeley Breathed (the cartoonist behind Bloom County) is returning with a new Sunday-only cartoon starring everyone's favorite penguin, Opus. I'll have to bust out one of my Bloom County books for old times' sake.
