NFL Week #6 So Far

Eeyore and I will tie this weekend, partially thanks to the Eagles' stupid decision to try an onside kick to start the game. Nothing says "desperation" quite like that. With the Monday Night game left, we are both 10-3. Thankfully, I regained my senses this morning and switched this evening's game to the Seahawks. How about the Panthers remaining undefeated and the Chiefs' amazing comeback at Lambeau?

In a related story, my Fightin' Wombats are going to win handily this weekend to improve my record to 5-1, good for first place in my division and in my league. I'm just waiting for a few of my key players to start blowing ACLs, MCLs, and assorted other CLs. No I'm not an optimist. :) I am, however, going to enjoy it while it lasts.

NFL Week #6

If it weren't for a dramatic and amazing Colts comeback, both Eeyore and I would have had double-digit wins last week. Oh well. Here's to week six! My stone cold lock pick of the week is that the Lions will not lose! Titans, Eagles, Colts, Dolphins, Chiefs, Saints, Bucs, Browns, Patriots, Bills, Ravens, Broncos, Seahawks, Rams.

Here's also to another Fightin' Wombats victory! My fantasy team stands at 4-1, tops in my division. I've also joined a fantasy hockey league with a team I have dubbed the Ice Chiggers. This is my first attempt at a hockey fantasy team, so we'll see how this goes.

The Master comments: Eeyore's picks for this week: Titans, Cowboys, Colts, Dolphins, Chiefs, Saints, Bucs, Browns, Giants, Bills, Ravens, Broncos, Seahawks, Rams

Linux.Ars Goodness

Ars Technica has updated their Linux.Ars page with a heaping helping of goodness. Included is a brief review of Slackware 9.1 and some lightweight window managers. They also mention an ISO of all the versions of OpenOffice 1.1.0 including some dictionaries and docs. I'm going to have to download that and burn a slew of copies to keep with me and give away to folks who think there is no life outside of MS Office.

Mozilla 1.4.1 Released

The Mozilla team has released version 1.4.1 of their popular web browsing suite. Basically this is a bugfix release for their stable branch. You can check out the release notes and download a build for the operating system of your choice. While there isn't a direct link to the source, you can snag that too. I just rolled myself an XFT build from those very sources.
