NVIDIA 1.0-5336 Linux Driver Released

NVIDIA has released the 1.0-5336 driver for their various products in Linux. Here's a list of the major changes. The first is the biggest one:

Now I can use the same driver, regardless of whether I'm using a 2.4.x or 2.6.x kernel. I just need to install it in 2.4, reboot to 2.6, and then run the driver setup with the -K option to compile a new kernel module. Very slick. And yes, I'm posting this from 2.6.1. Thanks Linux Games.

Opportunity Lands Safely

The Mars rover Opportunity landed safely on Mars and has begun to transmit some pictures. The JPL website has the details. The first pictures show a much different landscape than the one around Spirit. Two for two! Maybe NASA is on a roll.
