How to "Get" Mono

O'Reilly's ONDotnet.com has an article interviewing Miguel de Icaza on the Mono framework he has been championing at Novell. This is good stuff, as long as Microsoft allows it to come to full fruit. Mono allows Windows and Linux developers to come together with a reasonable language and environment and write system-independent code that works on Windows, Linux, or OS-X.

A.T. Hun comments: I can't help but be leery about this. I've got a sneaking suspicion that MS is going to pull a fast one at one point or another.

Clone Wars Season 2

The second season of the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon begins on Cartoon Network tonight at 6:00 P.M. U.S. Central time and will run through Friday. Unlike the first series, these are 12 minutes long. Tomorrow, the first season comes out on DVD.

Upcoming Games

Looking back, I realized to my horror that I haven't said much about gaming lately. The vast majority of my gaming time has been eaten up by Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando's challenge mode. I've been going back through Half-Life 2 a bit with Cedega 4.3. It's been a much better playing experience, but still way too jerky.

Here is a very brief list of the three games I am most looking forward to right now:

  1. DOOM III: Resurrection of Evil (PC)
  2. Star Wars: Episode III (PS2)
  3. LEGO Star Wars (PS2)

I'm particularly looking forward to LEGO Star Wars's cooperative mode. Blasting through the prequels with one of my boys while controlling little Lego guys brings a big old smile to my face.

SCO to Meet with NASDAQ Officials

SCO has some 'splainin' to do. They will be meeting with NASDAQ officials over their possible delisting. SCO has failed to turn in its Form 10-K to the Securities and Exchange Commission, missing deadlines on January 31 and February 15. Five weeks later, they still don't have it turned in. If I were a SCO investor, I'd be demanding some answers yesterday. Thanks Linux Today.

The Master comments: Based on the stock trends for SCOXE on CNN Money and Inestats, I'm guessing 90% of this stock is held by insiders, so (a) the stock will be UP on this news, and (b) the stockholders are living in a dream, so they don't care if they get delisted.
