NVIDIA 1.0-7174 Linux Drivers

NVIDIA has released new 1.0-7174 drivers for their various graphics products in Linux. You can download versions for 32 bit and AMD 64 bit processors/operating systems. These seem to fix various problems that people had with the 1.0-7167 drivers, especially with AGPGART. I've already downloaded and installed these drivers, but I haven't had a chance to test them yet. Thanks Linux Games.

DOOM3 Interview

Game Informer interviewed id's Brandon James, Matt Hooper, and Tim Willits about the XBox version of DOOM3 and the upcoming PC expansion for the game, Resurrection of Evil. Most interesting to me was that you can't play through the full single-player game in co-op mode on the XBox. Willits went further on some co-op details:

Yeah, you'll be able to play both cooperative and multiplayer Deathmatch via Xbox Live and System Link. But, you can't play via split-screen. Also, Xbox Live supports all the features that Microsoft requires for Xbox Live enabled titles, such as friend lists and the like.

Right at the end he also alludes to Quake IV which should be interesting. Thanks Blue's News.

Ars Reviews the PSP

Ars Technica got their hands on Sony's new PSP handheld gaming system and ran it through its paces. Read the full review for Ars' usual in-depth analysis. From my standpoint, the coolness factor is off the charts. Unfortunately, so is the price. If money were no object, I'd love to have one, but for now . . .
