Bleh -- 4:55 pm CST, Update by The Master
I started tinkering with QuakeWorld today at Eeyore's request. So far, I've downloaded the QuakeForge QW Clients for both our machines (her's doesn't have a GL card that works with GLQuake, mine does), and I got the old Requiem (Website) QW server mod going on my PC. Once the boys are in bed tonight, we're going to try it out again. Good times.

Freeciv 2.0.0 Released -- 2:49 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
I'm surprised that J.t.Qbe didn't mention this one already. Freeciv 2.0.0, a free/opensource game inspired by Civilization, has been released. There is a lengthy changelog of what is new since the l.14.2 release. This got posted on Slashdot, so their site is being hammered. You might just want to check out J.t.'s review of an earlier version of Freeciv.
J.t.Qbe comments: I was on my way here to post the news, but you beat me to it. I'm certainly giving this a try!
