Bleh: Upgrades

I spent two and a half hours last night upgrading our MySQL server to the latest 4.1 version. This was NOT a trivial upgrade, no matter what the specs say. The change in timestamp format really screwed things up, but I think I've patched everything together again.

That's the last time I do an upgrade after 11 pm.

Slackware Security Fixes

Since I've been on vacation there have been a bunch of Slackware security fixes released. So basically if you use Slackware, hit your favorite mirror site and get downloading. Looks like I'll be busy when I get home. I'm sure that other versions of Linux have similar updates available too. Check with your distro for the details.

Drop the $%^#ing Puck!

Much to no one's surprise, the NHL board of governors unanimously approved the new collective bargaining agreement, officially bringing the 310 day lockout to an end. They also approved a bunch of new rules changes to allow skill players to show their stuff. The draft lottery was held, with the Pittsburgh Penguins winning the Sidney Crosby sweepstakes. My Wings will pick 19th. Hopefully now they can get a new U.S. cable T.V. deal worked out so I'll actually be able to see the Wings this year.
