Carmack on Next-Gen Consoles -- 3:33 pm CST, Update by The Master
Gamespy has posted a write-up from John Carmack's QuakeCon stream-of-consciousness speech at this year's QuakeCon. This covers quite a bit of ground on where he sees the industry going. Good write-up, but the typical Gamespy network ads are a mite annoying.
Update: There is also additional coverage of Carmack's keynote at The Tech Report.

DOOM Movie Trailer -- 2:59 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
The trailer for the DOOM movie is available on Apple's website. It'll be interesting to see what the reviews are like. I'll probably see it when it's out on DVD, unless it turns out to be halfway decent. Obviously, I'm not holding my breath. Thanks Evil Avatar.
Bleh -- 1:06 am CST, Update by The Master
I was doing some housekeeping stuff on the Haus server box today. After doing the requisite log cleanup, etc, I reviewed the mail logs for the last couple of hours. All I can say for sure is that the spammers must REALLY love us, because I can see hundreds of their connections being denied per minute on our server. Good grief. And I thought I got a ton of spam now. I can't imagine what it would be like if I turned the filters off.
A.T. Hun comments: I'd be having you remove my email address, for starters :)
