NFL Week #4

Oh please, oh please, oh please let my fantasy team pick up a win this weekend! Anyway, here are my picks for this weekend's slate of NFL games: Bengals, Colts, Patriots, Bills, Giants, Bucs, Seahawks, Broncos, Ravens, Falcons, Chiefs, Raiders, 49ers, Panthers. Riddle me this, Batman, how in the world did ESPN end up with a 49ers-Cardinals game for Sunday night?

The Master comments: I thought last week's difference list was impressive. That was nothing. Check it: Saints, Jaguars, Bucs, Bengals, Titans, Chargers, Redskins, Rams, Jets, Raiders, Falcons, Eagles, 49er's, Panthers.

Trying out Thunderbird

I decided to bite the bullet today and try out Mozilla Thunderbird. So far? I'm VERY impressed.

I have been a Pegasus Mail user since I got away from mail and pine from my college VAX days. Pegasus has gotten extremely long in the teeth (even with the new beta version) and I was yearning for a change. While I like gmail, and use it regularly, I like to have a real mail client as well. Thunderbird is very impressive. If you want to get away from Outlook or Pegasus, this is a very good option.

Update! I wrote an actual article on how to do the conversion! A.T. - try not to have a heart attack :-)

Serious Sam 2 on Linux

While perusing Linux Gamers for the previous Quake IV in Linux story, I came across this other story saying that there will be a Linux client for Serious Sam 2 in a future patch. That's also great news since I really enjoyed Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. icculus was working on a Linux client for that, but it's currently on the back burner. It seems like a banner news day for us Linux gamers!

Quake IV on Linux

Linux Gamers got word from id's Timothee "TTimo" Besset that there will be a Quake IV client for Linux. It may come out a few weeks after the official release. Still, it's good news for us penguin-oriented folks. The big question now will be, does my box have the horsepower to run it? Thanks to our good friend Zombie for the heads-up.

Cold War

I saw the announcement on Blue's that a game called "Cold War" has gone gold. I took a quick peek at the snapshots and I am intrigued by this game. It looks like a fascinating historical sneak through cold-war Russia. Unless I see some horrid reviews, I think I'm going to pick this one up.
