NFL Week #13 So Far -- 11:08 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Eeyore and I will tie again this week since we split the two games we had different. We are both a scintillating 13-2 with only Monday's game left. I'm so glad the Lions started Garcia. If he really gives us the best shot to win, we're in deep doo-doo. My fantasy team decided not to show up for the last game of the regular season. The only guy who played worth squat was the one guy I didn't start: Chris Chambers. I'll end up in second place at 10-2-1. I really don't want to see another nice regular season go down the toilet with a playoff collapse.

UT2K4 3369 Patch Released -- 4:30 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Epic has released the 3369 patch for Unreal Tournament 2004. You can get the Windows version and a changelog from UnrealTournament.com. The Linux version finally adds render-to-texture support for those with relatively modern NVIDIA cards with the latest drivers. You can get the Linux patch from one of those mirrors on icculus.org. I also updated the ut2004@icculus.org FAQ with information on how to get render-to-texture support working. Very cool.

Update! The Mac version is now available too. It also includes render-to-texture on supported hardware.

NFL Week #13 -- 9:46 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Tired. So tired. Here are my ph34rless predictions for week #12 in the National . . . Football . . . League (mind you, I'm wearing my Lions jersey right now--that's how faithful a fan I am). Bears, Jaguars, Vikings (just because I'm faithful, doesn't mean I'm picking them), Colts, Dolphins, Bucs, Giants, Bengals, Falcons, Ravens, Redskins, Cardinals, Broncos, Patriots, Chargers, Seahawks.

Update! Looks like we'll split since Eeyore took the Panthers and Steelers.

Another One Bites the Dust -- 10:37 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Well, it appears that I've had another LG drive croak on me. This time it's my LG GSA-4163B DVD burner. Not long after I got it, it would suddenly stop mounting discs. I found that if I turned my box off for the night, it would magically work again. No such luck this time. I just got the stupid thing in August! I'm going to try to RMA it, but I'm reasonably confident that this is the last LG drive I'm ever going to spend money on.

The Master comments: I had my LG CD-RW drive die on me two years ago. It just suddenly stopped writing anything but CD-RW coasters, and it couldn't read anything that was burned by any drive other than itself. I pulled it and replaced it with a Sony DVD-R/CDRW, which has been solid. I'd love a DVD writer, but I'm just too cheap to buy one when it would only be used for the occasional system backup.
