Playoff Hockey -- 11:16 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

In case you wonder what playoff hockey looks like, it looks something like this. This is why you keep your head up. I saw this when it happened on OLN. It was an absolutely crushing--and perfectly legal--hit.

Pondering the Imponderable -- 10:47 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

After a brief flirtation with Konqueror and KMail, I'm back to tbe Firefox/Thunderbird combo. My main beef with Konqueror was that it would barf when I was trying to use Flash. Granted, I hate Flash, but for some sites it is a necessity. KMail isn't as feature-rich as Thunderbird. I thought I had found a way to force Firefox to use the KDE dialogs, but it didn't work. I guess I'll just have to tolerate them.

However, I am now using KDE's Akregator for RSS feeds instead of Firefox's Sage extension. It is just plain better in every way. I also made some changes so Firefox will use amaroK for more media playing. As an aside, I've gone all My Space and added a little graphic to the bottom of my personal site so you can see what I'm listening to in amaroK at any given time. Ahh, narcissism.

How to Wreck Your Computer -- 1:07 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

PC Stats posted an article on ways to wreck your computer. It would be a good thing for everyone to read before they crack open their case for the first time. I won't mention how many of those ways that The Master has destroyed boxen of his own. Thanks HardOCP.

The Master comments: Let's see... Assembly (floppy cable short-circuited the machine), Assembly (inserting PCI card bent PCI slot pins, short circuit killed mobo), Dead PSU (in a work server no less), bent CPU pins (thankfully I was just "helping" on this one--and it was a work server again), blown monitor made magic smoke and fried video card. I think that's pretty much the list. Heh.
