SysInternals Bought by Microsoft

The anouncement that Sysinternals has been bought by Microsoft. While this is great for the Win/Systernals crew, it's going to suck for those of us who use their tools on a near-daily basis to handle problems with Windows. I'm sure within 6 months none of these tools will be available except through Microsoft's Software Assurance scam.

Happy Birthday, Slackware!

Yesterday marked the 13th anniversary of the release of Slackware 1.0 by Patrick Volkerding. Slack is the oldest continuously-maintained Linux distro out there and, for my money, it's still the best. Even though many people work on it, the majority of the credit must go to Pat who has kept Slack going over the years. The release of Slackware 11.0, by the way, is right around the corner. I'm keyed because it will include a newer version of udev which will allow me to sync my PDA using the much faster libusb instead of the visor kernel interface.
