Sanders for the Hall? -- 9:15 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

I saw today that one of my childhood heroes, former Detroit Lions tight end Charlie Sanders, is a finalist for the Hall of Fame. He is one of two who were selected by the seniors committee. Five out of the last six selected by the committee have made the Hall. I remember a Christmas card picture of my sisters and me from sometime in the 70s. I'm wearing a Sanders #88 Lions jersey.

Pondering the Imponderable -- 8:50 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

W00t! With their victory over the Chicago White Sox tonight, the Detroit Tigers have clinched their first non-losing season since 1993 and only their third since 1989. Yes, it's been a painful row to hoe for us few remaining Tigers faithful, but it certainly makes this unexpectedly wonderful season sweet. Now if they can hold on to make the playoffs and then make a little noise. Why not the Tigers?
