NFL Week #5

As quickly as possible, here are my picks: Patriots, Saints, Giants, Bears, Rams, Panthers, Colts, Vikings, Chiefs, 49ers, Jaguars, Eagles, Chargers, Broncos.

The Master comments: There are no differences this week. Eeyore came this close to taking the Packers, but then she remembered the second half of last weeks game...

More Upgrade Ponderings

I was just reading some benchmarks on Intel's Core 2 Duo chips. Most impressive. If you are looking at a computer upgrade, this really seems to be a good time to do it. Intel's new chips are finally competitive with AMD's, forcing AMD to drop prices. The Core 2 Duo E6300 is great on the low-end and holds up with AMD's mid-range Athlon 64 X2s. The Core 2 Duo E6600 is a bit more expensive, but comes with a 4M cache which would future-proof Intel's design more. Intel's chips are also much better overclockers, if you are into that sort of thing (and I'm not). Combine either company's CPU with an nForce motherboard and you've got yourself one sweet system.

Unfortunately, all of this means that I'm really jonesing for an upgrade.
