Ars on Intel and AMD's Quad Cores

Ars Technica gives a quick take on the quad-core processors coming soon from Intel and AMD. A good chunk of that article will give most a Carmack-style headache. The good news is that you'll soon be able to have the equivalent of a four-CPU SMP setup in your box all in one package. I'll be interesting to see how the benchmarks turn out. This much is for sure: it'll get your geek testasterone level elevated in a big hurry.
