Rest of NFL Week #13

Eeyore and I are off to an inauspicious 0-1 start. Here's the rest of my picks sure to be wrong: Rams, Patriots, Chargers, Saints, Bears, Chiefs, Falcons, Jets, Colts, Texans, Dolphins, Cowboys, Steelers, Broncos, Eagles.

The Master comments: The rest of the differences: Redskins, Raiders, Jaguars, Panthers.

Anandtech on AMD's Quad FX

AMD has unleashed their Quad FX processors and AnandTech was there to review them. It is not a true quad core chip but two dual core chips on one platform. Things aren't very pretty for AMD. Intel's quad core chip beat them in every benchmark with far less power usage.

More Flash Player 9 Beta 2 for Linux

Well, I've been using the Flash Player 9 Beta 2 for Linux (story) now for a little over a week. Color me impressed. I've had it lock up Firefox a couple of times, but I can't replicate the crash. That's a lot better than the Flash Player 7 ever was. It's handled all the content I've thrown at it. I may not have any need for the Flashblock extension in Firefox any more.

NFL Week #13 Early

My pick for tonight's game is: Ravens. By the way, nice job by the NFL to put the game on a network that the vast majority of the country does not receive. It looks like they're trying to imitate the NHL deal with OLN/Versus. It's not like anybody would actually want to watch the game or anything.

The Master comments: Personally, I think having NFL games on cable is insanely stupid, but that's their call. Also, Eeyore agrees on tonight's pick.
