Hi-Def Format War Over -- 11:57 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Toshiba is waving the white flag and will cease production of HD-DVD players. Thus the war has been won by Blu-Ray, meaning that Sony's gamble of putting one in the PS3 has paid off. It's nice to know that not only won't I have to plan on getting a Hi-Def DVD player, but the one that I have is the most future-proof one out there. Thanks PS3 Fanboy.
Update 2/19 Here's Toshiba's official press release stating that they will cease making HD-DVD players.
