Anti-Cancer Bashing

One of the Slashdot team has seen fit to bash the whole anti-cancer computing effort The Haus has become a part of. I won't bother to link to it since it is so nonsensical, trite, and ill-researched it makes me sick. If you really want to read it, it's easy to find on their site. I am thankful that the majority of the posters have taken him to task for it.

Yes, God forbid we support a program to fight cancer because the company with the technology might also want to make a profit in other similar ventures. Cripes. Maybe there is some truth to the M$ ramblings. Maybe some of them are bona fide communists.

J.t.Qbe comments: Hmmm, imagine that: idiotic comments from a Slashdot staffer! That's almost as rare as idiotic comments from a Slashdot poster! They need to grow up and visit the real world (I grew up near Holland, MI, location of Slashdot headquarters, and that is definitely not the real world.) A cure for cancer will cost a small fortune in R&D, if one is ever found at all. Whoever develops it will want to recoup those costs and will deserve to do so. That's the way the world works. The end result would be worth it, and it would also be cool to tell the grandkids that you helped find the cure. It's a huge project, and an important one.
