Alternate Operating Systems
Despite what Uncle Bill and the folks at Redmond might want you to believe, there are a lot of high-quality operating systems that don't begin with the initials "MS". The webserver that runs The Haus is powered by the increasingly popular Linux. PalmOS controls the vast majority of the handheld computer market. J.t.Qbe even dabbles in BSD and VMS a little bit.
The Haus doesn't intend on being "the last word" in alternate operating systems. We just hope to make the transition to another OS as painless as possible and give you with good reason to try one. Right now, we are concentrating on Linux and PalmOS. Click on any of the links below to begin your journey into a fresh new world of computing.
