UT Linux 428a Patch

Loki Software has released a 428a patch for Unreal Tournament for Linux. You can get it from Loki's FTP site. It fixes some OpenGL and input issues. You need to have the 428 patch already installed. Thanks Blue.

NFL Week #2 Picks

This week's matchups are much more difficult to call than last week's. Still, I'm willing to put my sterling 11-4 record on the line and give you this week's prognostications. Here we go! Titans, Vikings, Bills, Jaguars, Colts, Bucs, Eagles, Bengals, Rams, Redskins, Broncos, Panthers, Chargers, Cardinals, and Jets. The fan in me hopes that I'm wrong on the Detroit-Washington game. Please note that I picked both the Cardinals and the Bengals in the same week. You probably won't see that again. The pick I'm most nervous about? Denver over Atlanta.

I got absolutely creamed in my first week of Fantasy Football 95-38. I scored the fewest points in the league, my opponent scored the most. I can't blame myself for bad starter selection though. Even if I could have played everyone on my roster last week I still wouldn't have had enough points.

The Master comments: Eeyore's (my wife) picks for this week: Falcons, Panthers, Bucs, Bengels, Packers, Jaguars, Titans, Vikings, Chargers, Giants, Raiders, Rams, Lions, Cardinals, and Jets. Heh-let's see who's competitive spirit comes out :-)

J's Guide to TFC

More original content from The Haus! In the first of a series of articles on the subject, our very own J give us an Introduction to Team Fortress Classic. The Master and I have never played TFC, but after reading this article we will be rectifying that situation soon.

More Obi-Wan at Stomped

JCal has posted an interview with Kevin Schmitt and Ryan Kaufman, designers on LucasArts' upcoming first/third-person shooter, Episode I: Obi-Wan. Naturally, they talk about the overall level design in the game (duh). Thanks Shugashack.

MiniJam Review

Visor Central has posted a review of InnoGear's MiniJam, an MP3-playing Springboard module for Handspring's Visor PDAs. The possibility of getting a MiniJam is one of the reasons I chose a Visor over a Palm PDA. Check out the review, it looks like it was worth the wait.

Jaquays Interview

The Mean Arena interviewed id's Paul Jaquays about finishing up Q3: Team Arena and starting work on the new Doom. Thankfully there are no "How did you get into the business?" type questions. Thanks Blue.

POR interview, Day 2

Day 2 of the Pool of Radiance interview is online at the Adrenaline Vault. Major topics include the changes from the original combat system in the 2nd edition of AD&D to the 3rd, how those affect the game, and the new character special skills available because of the 3rd ed. rules. Cool.

Bleh

Okay, here's a free chuckle: Microsoft Linux. Thanks Blue.

On other topics-looks like our DNS has finally stabilized, and I hope to get some other system upgrades done soon. I need to upgrade quite a bit of the Haus's internals, so we may have some up/down time issues in the next month or so. I'll try to keep it short :-)
