Diablo II Demo Released

Blizzard has released an official Diablo II demo, available at the mirrors that are FilePlanet. Here's the description:
Journey through the lands of Sanctuary as your Barbarian seeks to do battle with Blood Raven in this single-player demo of Diablo II. Whether you're new to role-playing games or a skilled veteran, you'll be faced by the challenge of leading your hero to victory over the denizens of the underworld. Can you destroy the evil that has plagued this once peaceful land and stop the dark reign of Diablo?
The demo weighs in at 131.9M, so you might want to pack a three-course meal. Thanks Blue.

Pondering the Imponderable

I decided to try running my Sony Car Discman through the line-in on my SoundBlaster Live! since my CD-ROM has been a little flaky lately. Even though my CD-ROM has a digital-out on it, the sound from the Discman is noticably better, especially since I can make use of its DSP effects. Very slick, especially since my Discman hadn't been getting much use otherwise.

Diablo II Servers Cracked

Diablo II.net is reporting that someone managed to crack the Diablo II hardcore ladders and kill off most of the top characters. Blizzard is dealing with the situation, but I'm sure that a lot of people will be seriously annoyed. Thanks Slashdot. BTW, it would be nice if some other gaming sites would use the correct term. The servers were cracked, not hacked.

A.T. Hun's Top Five Resolutions

Here's my Top Five list of my own New Year's Resolutions:

5) I will get even better with the railgun
4) I will try to curb my rage while watching the Detroit Lions
3) I will be more understanding of The Master's spelling difficulties
2) I will not send hate mail to Creative for not releasing their Linux drivers, nor to NVIDIA for not updating theirs in about four months
1) More fun salads! (thanks Dave Letterman)

Jailbreak for UT Released

A while back Team Reaction, the creators of the Jailbreak mod, dropped their planned Unreal Tournament version. It seems that someone named "Daikiki" has picked it up and released v1.0 of UTJB. I saw this last night, but was unable to contact their server at that time. Everything seems to be working now.

It's A New Millennium

And I'm updating my website. Any one else see a problem with that?

J.t.Qbe comments: Yeah, I do: it means that you're a geek! Oops, I'm updating the site too. Oh well. Happy 2001, everyone!
