Freelancer Preview

IGN posted a very brief preview of Freelancer, the upcoming space sim from Digital Anvil. I really hope this game lives up to expectations. I would love to have a modern version of Elite. We'll see . . . Thanks Evil Avatar.

I watched The Sum of All Fears last night. Let me say this: pretty much disregard the books AND all the previous movies. This thing is so screwed up timeline wise that I have NO idea how they can make any more movies. Gack.

Pondering the Imponderable

Whilst trying to break everything on my Linux installation, I decided to give Mozilla 1.2 beta a spin. It does offer some neat improvements to the general Mozilla experience. I've been trying the much-touted "Type Ahead Find" capabilities. Basically you just start typing and it will go to any link that contains what you typed. While it is neat, I debate how useful it is.

The Master comments: I've played with the 1.2 beta for Windows, and so far it's been stable. Thankfully installing that on Windows seems to be pain-free :-)

UT2K3 2136 Linux Patch

After a bit of a delay, the 2136 patch for Unreal Tournament 2003 is now available for Linux users. Please note: you need to have the 2126 patch installed already. The auto-updater will take care of that automagically for you.
