Anakin Skywalker Switch Commercial -- 12:57 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Since I've posted about a number of parodies on the Apple Switch campaign. Here's a famous switch, one by Anakin Skywalker. Just a couple of caveats: you will need Macromedia Flash Player 6 (Linux users can download a beta here. Worked for me.) and some of the other content on that site is of a questionable nature.

10-in-1 Review -- 10:20 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

I just saw this on Blue's News. Back in Time reviewed the Atari 10-in-1 gaming system that I mentioned yesterday (story). As cool as the idea is, apparently it didn't carry over too well in practice. That's quite a shame. Hopefully they found and fixed the bugs the reviewer mentions. If not, it becomes pretty worthless.

MoH: Spearhead Demo -- 10:09 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

A demo of Spearhead, the expansion pack for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, has been released. You can snag the 142M file from the usual suspects, including FileShack, and MoH Files (FileFront). The demo includes a level that is exclusive to the demo and a level for a new gametype called Tug of War, which sounds a lot like Unreal Tournament's Domination.

I tried to download EA Sports' NHL 2003 demo and couldn't understand why FileShack was so backed up. Now I know. :) My timing is almost always horrible.

NWN Linux Client Update -- 8:06 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Bioware updated their Neverwinter Nights Linux client page with an update on its status. Here's the scoop:

Forgot to mention last week that we changed our Linux development platform from Mandrake to Redhat 8. We made this change mainly because we were getting reports of Redhat 8 compatibility issues and we wanted to deal with them directly. At this point, we believe we have fixed the high CPU utilization issues we were experiencing and they will be in the upcoming 1.27 update. The one thing that usually eats up half a day per week is sync'ing the codebase from Windows to Linux and finding the differences and changes that need to be Linux specific. We'll have some new screenshots next week.

10-in-1 Classic Gaming -- 12:54 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun

Toy Max has come up with two classic gaming systems that are really just a joystick that plugs into your T.V. One is shaped like a classic Atari 2600 joystick and contains ten Atari games. The other is shaped more like a gamepad and contains ten Activision games. I'd love to have Pitfall, but I wish that one had Chopper Command and would also come as the 2600 joystick. Demon Attack would be cool too. Just in time for Christmas :) Both of those links are to Electronics Boutique, but you might be able to find them elsewhere. Thanks Slashdot.

J.t.Qbe comments: Now this is cool. For some insane reason I've been desiring a video game system lately (as if I didn't already have more computer games than I could play in a lifetime), and one of these would be much cheaper than a $200 Playstation 2!

NVIDIA FreeBSD Driver Released -- 10:31 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

NVIDIA has released beta binary drivers for FreeBSD! It requires FreeBSD -STABLE, version 4.7 or later. Pretty cool stuff! Time to play games on the world's most secure OS. People on the UT2K3/Linux mailing list are talking about trying to play that game under FreeBSD. I'll update this post if anyone is successful. Thanks Slashdot.
