NFL Week #11

Well, my Lions have won two in a row which means it time for them to lose, especially since they'll be on the road. Of course, if they don't beat the 'Hawks this weekend, they are virtually guaranteed to break the NFL record for consecutive road losses. Yay team! Anyway, here are my piX0rs: Dolphins, Saints, Eagles, Panthers, Bills, Rams, Chiefs, Browns (ugly game of the week), Titans, Colts, Broncos, Seahawks, Bucs, Vikings, Patriots, 49ers. Yikes, that means I've chosen all the favorites. I'm hating that. The point spreads are insane this weekend.

The Master comments: Eeyore's picks for this week: Ravens, Saints, Eagles, Panthers, Bills, Rams, Chiefs, Browns, Titans, Colts, Broncos, Seahawks, Bucs, Vikings, Cowboys, Steelers.

Thanks, LG! Not!

I'd personally like to thank the jackholes at LG for my GCC-4480 CD-RW/DVD-ROM. It was getting to the point that it was having a very hard time reading some media, particularly ones it had created. Also, it has that problem that Mandrake ran into with an ATAPI command causing it to drop its firmware (hooray for QA!). A firmware upgrade was supposed to fix these things. Thus, I moved the drive to my kids' Windows box, followed the instructions to the letter, and started the firmware upgrade. Lockup. Wait. Still locked up. Wait. Cold reboot, dead drive. What a POS. I've had nothing but trouble with every non-Sony optical drive I've ever purchased. You'd think I would have learned my lesson by now. The stupid thing is still under warranty, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

UPDATE! When I called LG tech support they took my name and number, saying that someone would get back in touch with me within 5-10 minutes. Well, seven hours later . . . nothing. Maybe they meant 5-10 business days.

DX: IW News

There's word out on Computer and Video Games that Deus Ex 2: Invisible War is due out in early December, with a demo planned as well. Good news. In addition, Gamespy has posted a review of weapons, items and monsters in the new shooter. Some interesting stuff here as well.
