The Wings beat the Blues tonight 3-2 to sew up the President's Trophy for the best record in the regular season and home ice throughout the playoffs. The quest for Lord Stanley's Cup begins on Wednesday!
Duke Nukem Forever Goes Gold -- 8:27 pm CST, Update by J.t.Qbe
In development since you were in diapers, the long awaited certain hit Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold and will be in stores next week. . . Nah, no one's ever going to believe that one.
A.T. Hun comments: I vaguely remember my grandpappy talking to me about playing the original Duke.
New Onslaught Maps Tomorrow -- 10:05 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Gamespot is going to be releasing two new Onslaught maps for Unreal Tournament 2004 tomorrow. For some strange reason, they are saying that this is a part of Microsoft's Windows XP Extras program. I hope that doesn't mean that non-XP folks won't be able to nab these. I'm sure some enterprising lad out there will release a ZIP version if no one else does. Thanks Blue's News.
Linux 2.8 Kernel Released -- 8:10 am CST, Update by J.t.Qbe
I lean toward the "if it ain't broke" school of kernel upgrades, but I'm going to try this one out just for the fun of it. New features include:
- New and improved Windows compatibility through the Kernel32 module (contributed by SCO). emacs and vi have been replaced by a new editor called notepad.
- Experimental MindControl module allows you to attach electrodes to your scalp and control the computer using brain waves, replacing both mouse and keyboard input. For some reason Microsoft is the only source of the I/O card for this feature, though, and reverse-engineering is not allowed.
- ConsumerGuard: at the request of the RIAA, MPAA, BSA and NCAA, no MP3s, CDs or DVDs will play on a kernel 2.8 computer, thus protecting the consumer from any potential piracy and its resulting consequences.
You can get your new kernel (binaries only, no source) here. Have fun.

Stratos UT2K4 Guide -- 5:36 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
The Stratos Group released their Unreal Tournament 2004 Guide in PDF form. It's a very handy reference for newbies and seasoned veterans alike. I wish I would have read it before so I could have been a better pilot on AS-Mothership. Check it out.
Let's Go, Red Wings! -- 2:51 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
My beloved Red Wings can clinch the NHL Western Conference's top seed and home ice through the Western Conference finals with a win, tie, or overtime loss in tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. They're also one point ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning with one game in hand for the President's Trophy and home ice throughout the playoffs. Since the Wings have 30 wins in the friendly confines of Joe Louis Arena, home ice throughout the playoffs would be A Very Good Thing.
UPDATE! The Wings won 3-2, clinching the West and opening up a three point lead on Tampa Bay with two games to play. Another win in one of their final two games and the Wings clinch the President's Trophy.
Community Bonus Pack(s) for UT2K4 -- 12:26 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
The same folks who brought you the original Community Bonus Pack for Unreal Tournament 2003 are hard at work creating an all-new pack for Unreal Tournament 2004 and converting the original pack to work with UT2K4. The site is a little short on details at the moment, but some of the map screenshots look very cool indeed.
