Linux Kernel 2.6.7 Released -- 11:50 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Linus and the gang have released the 2.6.7 Linux kernel. The big reason to upgrade (if you are running 2.6.x right now) is that this kernel includes a fix for the recently discovered bug where a local user could lock the box up. Naturally, you should hit one of the mirrors to download this one. I know that I am!
Update! I am now fully upgraded to 2.6.7. Faster and, dare I say, sexier than ever!

Detroit Pistons: 2004 NBA Champs! -- 11:13 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
They said that the Detroit Pistons didn't have a prayer. "They" were wrong. Tonight, the Pistons beat the L.A. Lakers 100-87 (and it wasn't that close) to win the NBA championship four games to one! I'm amazed at how many people came up to me during the series and said, "I'm not a big Detroit guy, but I really want to see them beat the Lakers." Congrats especially go out to coach Larry Brown who became the first man to lead a team to an NCAA and an NBA championship, and to Joe Dumars who led Detroit to championships in '89 and '90 as a player and in '04 as an executive. Whew!

Bleh -- 2:27 pm CST, Update by The Master
Well, it's been pretty quiet on the gaming front lately, but the spam front is getting outright insane. I wish some of these ISPs would just crank down the thumbscrews on their egress filters so port 25 wouldn't work anymore. Something like 80% of my spam is coming from either Telus, Deutsche Telekom, Tiscali UK, a slew of Chinese, Brazilian and South Korean networks, or AT&T. Come on, people. Do you ENJOY being the backside of the internet?
