More NFL Week #1 -- 7:30 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
Well, both Eeyore and I are off to a rip-roaring start, picking the Thursday night game correctly. Here's where the fun starts. The rest of my picks for this week's contests are: Bills, Bengals, Chiefs, Broncos, Vikings, Steelers, Redskins, Panthers, Jaguars, Lions, Giants, Chargers, Rams, Colts, Eagles. The Packers-Lions game could either be a slugfest or one of those 12-10 debacles.
The Master comments: Eeyore's picks: Redskins, Bengals, Broncos, Bills, Panthers, Chiefs, Seahawks, Vikings, Steelers, Cardinals, Chargers, Packers, Rams, Colts, Eagles.
Firefox Vulnerability Fix -- 7:27 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
A vulnerability was discovered in Firefox 1.0.6 and 1.5 beta 1. A patch and a workaround have been released. If you need to use international domain names (IDN), grab the patch. Otherwise, a simple config change will solve the problem. I'm not sure if this has been exploited yet, but better safe than sorry.

I'm Tired -- 9:18 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
I got oil changes for my car and van this week, but they were way more expensive than I anticipated. I knew my car was going to need new tires so that wasn't a big shocker. Turns out that the van needed them too. Because of alignment problems, the tires wore out on the inside but looked great on the outside. Unfortunately, the van tires are twice as expensive. One of the van tires had worn so much that metal was beginning to show through. Of course, the only thing worse than getting them replaced is not getting them replaced and then being stranded with four kids in the middle of nowhere.
NerdTV: Andy Hertzfeld -- 9:26 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
PBS's Robert X. Cringely launched NerdTV, which is intended to give in-depth interviews with important computer industry figures. The first one is with Andy Hertzfeld, one of the first system programmers for the Macintosh. There is a complete program schedule on the site. I'm looking forward to the interview with Linus Torvalds on November 29. You can download the entire show as an MP4 video or an MP3, AAC, or Ogg Vorbis. Ars Technica has some more background.
