How to Wreck Your Computer

PC Stats posted an article on ways to wreck your computer. It would be a good thing for everyone to read before they crack open their case for the first time. I won't mention how many of those ways that The Master has destroyed boxen of his own. Thanks HardOCP.

The Master comments: Let's see... Assembly (floppy cable short-circuited the machine), Assembly (inserting PCI card bent PCI slot pins, short circuit killed mobo), Dead PSU (in a work server no less), bent CPU pins (thankfully I was just "helping" on this one--and it was a work server again), blown monitor made magic smoke and fried video card. I think that's pretty much the list. Heh.

Pondering the Imponderable

The NHL playoffs--ahh, how I've missed them. It's been almost two long years now! The Wings game has just finshed the third period. Manny Legace made two sparkling saves at the end of regulation to send it into overtime. I've got the "playoff jitters" which come when I get way too excited about a game. I suppose this makes up for my normal lack of cardiovascular workouts.

Update End of the first OT period. I think my pulse is about 2,675 now. At this rate I should get to sleep somewhere around . . . Thursday.

Update #2 YES! Kirk Maltby with the blast between the wickets to give Detroit the win in double OT. There's nothing like playoff hockey. Go Wings!

Bleh

Eeyore purchased Burnout: Revenge a couple of weeks ago, and we finally sat down last night and played for a couple of hours. I have determined that Crash mode is totally the bomb. The first time I broke $10 million in damages I cackled like a maniac. This is the first console-based game I put more than a half-hour into in the last 10 years. We need to play again tonight >:>

A.T. Hun comments: Seems to me that I told you so :) If you like the crash gametype, just wait until you play traffic attack. There are several PS2 games that I really like, but Burnout: Revenge is far and away my favorite.

J.t.Qbe comments: I bought Burnout 3: Takedown for my Xbox a few weeks ago and have been having a great time with it. Crash Mode always makes me smile.
