Opera Now Free, Sort Of -- 10:52 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
I saw that the newest version of the Opera Web Browser, version 5.0, has been released--and it's now free! The catch? You have to watch ads every time you browse. You can still fork over the cash for a non-ad version. I can tolerate the ad-ware thing with Go!Zilla, since I don't have to watch it work. I don't think I could tolerate it with my web browser. Thanks Slashdot. Not that you asked, but I've been using Mozilla builds exclusively for almost two months. I'm using the November 30 build right now. It's still got some bugs, but the browser displays pages much faster than Netscape and when it crashes (which is rare) it doesn't bring my system with it like Internet Exploder.
