Q3:TA First Impressions

Yesterday I bought myself a new computer desk (very nice!), a USB trackball, and Quake III: Team Arena. My first impressions of Q3:TA are pretty amazing. Every map I load up, I say "Wow!" The terrain maps are HUGE, especially the winter one. The smaller maps are incredibly detailed and ready for some fast-paced CTF. The prox mine launcher and the new nailgun are decent enough, but the chaingun rules. It makes having the ammo regen power-up more than worthwhile. I plan on playing all the maps a few times, then writing a full review. For now, I'll just say this: Best Buy has Q3:TA for $17.99. You have no excuse. Go buy it, then thank me later.

The Master comments: I'm in complete agreement with A.T. on this one. The maps in Q3A:TA are awsome, and there is one outdoor terrain map that is just awesome to play. I'd love to get a server big enough to get a LOT of bots on some of these outdoor maps and just RUMBLE. Whee :-)

UPDATE! id's Todd Hollenshead updated his .plan with word that Q3:TA is also available from CompUSA for $17.99. Don't think of it as spending money, think of it as helping the economy!
