Netscape Completely Gone?

MozillaZine is reporting that AOL is killing off Netscape entirely, even to the point of removing logos from buildings. Of course, anyone who thought that AOL was going to be a good steward of Netscape needed to have their head examined. They got Netscape so they could get leverage with M$. Once that leverage was no longer needed, see ya! Of course, at least Mozilla is out there and it's open source. That cannot be taken away. Hopefully some folks with axes to grind against AOL and/or Microsoft can step up and provide more funding.

Another note: it appears that AOL has released all of the Netscape code that was under the Netscape Public License and relicensed it under the Mozilla Public License. That will help their plan to relicense the thing as MPL/GPL/LGPL.
