More Crushing News for SCO

Groklaw brings word of even more bad news for SCO. In the Novell case, SCO was denied its request to get the trial moved to a state court. Thus, it remains a copyright issue instead of a contract issue. Oops. In the IBM case, SCO was denied its motion to split the case into two separate ones for the contract and the patent claims. Unfortunately, this could still drag on for a long time. If the IBM case goes to trial (which some doubt), it would not begin until November of next year. However, now SCO has three choices: 1) prove its claims in a court of law, 2) try negotiating a deal (fat chance), or 3) bleed so much cash it goes out of business. If I were a betting man, I'd go with #3.
