Thin(ner) CRTs Soon? -- 10:06 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun

LG and Samsung are working on new thinner CRT screens. They aren't as thin as LCD or plasma, but they will have the higher quality CRT picture. Thin monitors are just too expensive right now and too limiting. A thinner CRT would be just what the doctor ordered. No matter what, more competing technologies means lower prices across the board. You don't have to be a CPA to know that that's A Good Thing. Thanks Slashdot.

The Master comments: We just updated our MIS PCs at work, and I tried out a flat-panel LCD monitor for the first time. It was a 19" high-end model, but I couldn't run it in a native resolution (I am visually limited to using lower resolutions) and it was AWFUL at lower res. I'm not sure I will ever be able to use anything other than a CRT, so I sure hope someone keeps making them.
