Pondering the Imponderable -- 10:17 pm CST, Update by A.T. Hun
I decided to recompile my 2.6.10 kernel last night, using a slightly tweaked version of the config that comes with Slackware 10.1. I had been using the same config for some time. It probably goes back to 2.6.2 or so and has just had make oldconfig run on it for each new kernel. Actually, it began life as the 2.4.x config that came with Slackware 10. I figured some settings might have gotten munged up, so this seemed like a wise thing to do. So far, so good.
I got UT2K4 reinstall yesterday. That's not the hard part. Getting all the maps, Editor's Choice content, and mods reinstalled is a pain. Unfortunately, some of these ZIP files have some really odd permissions (700, 777, etc.), so all of that has to be fixed. I think I've got all of that working again. Of course, most of my gaming time recently has been consumed by Burnout 3: Takedown on my PS2, or as I come to lovingly refer to it, crack.
