Bleh -- 12:28 am CST, Update by The Master
I spent a couple hours working on my Athlon-64 based system today (MSI K8T Neo2 system, Athlon 3500, 1gb Ram), and I got to discover a few fun things:
- When installing a new Antec system fan, the Antec label points in the same direction as the air flow.
- Make sure you check all your cable connections BEFORE putting the case back together. Otherwise you'll get to wrench out all those screws TWICE.
- Don't use MSI PC Alerts software to monitor voltages, fans, and temps -- it misreads the entire chipset. Use MSI Core Center. Completely undocumented issue with the software. I had to find this in the extremely difficult to use knowledgebase. MSI impresses me not.
Oh, and UT2K4 causes my system to reboot after exiting the game in XP. Impressive. The consensus seems to be that it's a problem with XP, Athlon 64 processors and the most recent UT2K4 patch release. I just think it's annoying.
