Another Reason to Hate Coldplay

As if I needed another one. Ars Technica found out that Coldplay's latest CD comes with a "handy" DRM fact sheet that basically says that this disc will not play in every CD player because their DRM Is Good For You. Oh, by the way, if you don't like this deception, you're out of luck since you can't return the CD. After all, you opened it. Yes, the CD is reportedly already on the file swapping services. I'm not going to provide a link because a) I don't feel like getting my site caught up in an RIAA frenzy and b) someone might actually listen to Coldplay. This is what happens when the recording industry gets to write their own rules.

The Master comments: And that's why you ALWAYS disable autoplay on your PC. Thankfully the music industry and the RIAA will eventually cut their own throats, so I'm not too concerned. I buy the CDs, rip them, and listen to them on my iPod. I'm sick and tired of being called a thief by the industry, when I plonk down my hard-earned money for their garbage. Makes me glad that I really mainly buy my music via iTunes now. While it is limiting as well, I don't need the music anywhere else but my iPod anyway. Especially since Eeyore doesn't like a lot of my music anyway :-)
