Bleh -- 6:40 pm CST, Update by The Master

The release of Half Life 2: Episode 1 was a huge letdown for me. I fired it up, started a new game, and promptly locked my PC up with the infamous stutter-sound lockup. I tried most of the stuff I've seen on the web for fixing this issue with no luck. At this point I think I'm at the mercy of Valve's tech support staff. Suck. Hopefully they'll have some ideas for working around whatever is making my SB Audigy card puke.
