EA Pulls Plug on 2005 Games

Joystiq got word that EA will be killing online support for its various 2005 sports games. Most of those games no longer work online as of August 1. More will go the way of all flesh on October 1. Apparently they decided that enough people weren't falling for their annual $60 roster updates/cash grabs. That's why I'm glad the NHL didn't sign an exclusive deal with EA. When they hold all the cards, they can do whatever they please. I was thinking about getting their World Cup game for my PS2. I will rethink that now. Thanks Evil Avatar.
