Slackware 11.0 Gets Closer

I've been keeping an eye on the Slackware -current changelog to see when Slackware 11.0 is released. Today Patrick Volkerding released 11.0 RC3 with a number of changes. I'm particularly interested in the new udev so I can do some cool new things with my PDA. That new udev also means no more hotplug (hooray!).

It's hard to believe that I've been using Slackware for over three years now. I've never had a problem with stability or other weirdness since switching over. I've heard good things about (K)Ubuntu, but since I'm so happy with Slackware, I really see no reason to switch. I may, however, give it a spin on my other box one of these days, assuming I figure out what's causing it to freak out.

J.t.Qbe comments: I'm looking forward to seeing Slackware 11 soon too.

I've checked out (K)Ubuntu and have one running on VMWare on my work laptop. Basically (and this is IMO, of course) it's an attempt at bringing Apple coolness to Debian. It works. But after using Slackware for 3 years, you probably won't become a convert.
