M$ Shreds Your Rights

I'm not normally a big fan of Inquirer articles, but this one is good: Microsoft Media Player shreds your rights. He gets a bit violent, but considering the nasty turn of events in Microsoft's kissing up to the big media companies, I think he's got a right to it.

A.T. Hun comments: MS is the modern-day Shylock; they will get their pound of flesh no matter what. Since they already dominate the OS market, they have to look to new sources of revenue. There's no better racket than this. I'm all for artists making money. I'm not in favor of the record companies being able to charge you multiple times for music you already legally bought. Of course, if you fail to play their game, they will sue you and you will have little recourse. I have bitched to my Senators about this, but Herb Kohl in particular doesn't seem to care. It's hard to get a multi-millionaire to understand the life of the common working man.
