GoY: Ratchet and Clank Future

Well, I have to award my prestigious (as if) Game of the Year award to Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. In my mind this is the "killer app" that the Playstation 3 has been waiting for. When we first got it and I played through the first level, there were all kinds of shouts of "Wow! Look at that! Did you see that?" from my family as they watched. This clearly was not just a rehashing of a PS2 game. There's so much going on and the PS3 never slows down for so much as a second. I've played through the game three times so far, so that should tell you something right there. The weapons are interesting and a blast to use. The gadgets (especially the disco-ball-like Groovitron) are hilariously fun. If you don't like the Ratchet series of games, you probably won't like this one either. Of course, if you don't like the Ratchet games I have to question if you have a soul. Insomniac Games strikes again.

My only complaint with the game is the ending. It's a cliffhanger and not in a good way. I won't spoil it for those who haven't finished it yet. The only good thing about it is that it pretty much guarantees that Insomniac will be making yet another R&C game at some point. I can't wait.
